Hey Oppo, what got blasted into my siding?

Found a hole in my siding a foot or so off the ground. Thought wtf could have caused that? Felt around in it and noticed that black tip sticking out. (In the picture it’s pulled out a little than it was originally) Took quite a bit to yank it out but uh, yeah, what’s this? Granted I do live in an apartment complex but our grounds keepers haven’t been around because winter. No damage inside

what material is it made out of? is it plastic or metal? If I had to guess based on shape its part of a shield for a rotating element, but WHAT element, I can’t guess... does that side of the building face the road?

The plastic weighs next to nothing so it definitely needed some force to break through the siding. It was really wedged in there.

Part of me is thinking a lawnmower or weedwacker shroud

At first I thought it could be part of a string trimmer head, but it looks too big. My guess is some sort of plant pot or porch decoration that got run over by a lawnmower and shot out into the siding last time the grounds crew was out.

Flimsy plastic. It faces the sidewalk so it would potentially be affected by our lawn crew. I’ll investigate with our leasing office to see when they last came through.

How it got lodged in the wall is anyone’s guess though.

I’m thinking the lawn crew ran it over with a lawnmower, especially since where you found it wasn’t that high off the ground.
